Teeth Whitening DENTIST

Teeth whitening is an important procedure for a number of reasons.

For starters, teeth whitening helps remove discoloration. If you look at some successful teeth whitening before and after pictures, you will only see beautiful shiny smiles without stains or discoloration.

Now imagine that you have an important event to attend. Maybe the event requires you to stand on a podium before an audience and deliver a speech. Despite attire perfection and beautiful speech preparation, your stained teeth take center stage as the source of your self-consciousness.

A simple teeth whitening procedure rectifies this problem by allowing you to smile at your audience and speak without hesitation!

Cosmetic Bonding FAQs

Why is Teeth Whitening Important?

It is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that helps to improve the appearance of misaligned or stained teeth. It involves slicing down the tooth in order to apply a tooth-colored composite material on it. That material is sculpted, sliced and shaped into the shape of the tooth. It also helps to fix broken teeth, a chipped tooth or the gap between the teeth. Dental bonding is a quick and relatively inexpensive method of improving the appearance of abnormal or damaged teeth in order to improve the overall appearance of a smile.

What Causes Discoloration of Teeth?

The primary reason for tooth discoloration is the accumulation of stain particles from food, drinks, or smoke in the tooth enamel. Some of the primary offenders of teeth discoloration are tobacco, tea, wine, cola drinks, and coffee. Teeth discoloration may also automatically occur as a result of old age since tooth enamel wears off over time.

Does Teeth Whitening Hurt?

A common concern most patients have is whether or not teeth whitening is a painful procedure. If you’re concerned about the discomfort and pain, rest assured that teeth whitening doesn’t hurt at all. Don’t put off your teeth whitening procedure because you’re worried about a little pain.

The teeth whitening procedure is completely safe when performed by trained specialists like those at URBN Dental. Our dentists take all necessary precautions to ensure that you feel no discomfort during the procedure.

Inform your doctor if you have sensitive teeth as this may lead to slight pain and discomfort. He or she will be able to modify the treatment plan accordingly so you don’t feel any pain.

How Long Does Teeth Whitening Take?

The duration of a teeth whitening procedure varies greatly for different patients depending on the amount of discoloration.

On average, a teeth whitening session takes 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

However, depending on the condition of your teeth, you may need several sessions for the perfect result. Teeth whitening isn’t a one-time procedure. It may require only one visit but it may also require 10 sessions over several weeks. Usually, however, patients require around 1 to 3 visits for teeth whitening.

Teeth whitening is a recurring procedure. As such, you’ll need to return for regular teeth whitening sessions to retain your bright smile and prevent it from fading away.
